AHEC Alumni/Advocate Membership Category

Across the nation, 300 AHECs are dedicated to transforming healthcare and lives. We know thousands of program participants become vital health professionals serving underserved communities, and we want to stay connected!

That's why the National AHEC Organization (NAO) created the AHEC Alumni/Advocate membership. If you've been touched by AHEC and believe in strengthening healthcare for vulnerable populations, join our network as an AHEC Alumni/Advocate today.

AHEC Alumni/Advocates are NAO members who have been served by Area Health Education Centers (AHECs) in some way and wish to stay connected (or get re-connected) to the AHEC mission of strengthening healthcare for underserved populations.

Alumni/Advocates will have participated in any AHEC program at any level or have a current or past association with AHEC in any way. (i.e., Scholars, Pathways Students (SEARCH Academy, Health Career Club, Career Counseling, Health Career Camp/Career Fair), Preceptors, Advisory Board Members, Partners, etc.).

The NAO recognizes the outstanding contributions of AHEC Alumni/Advocates! NAO opens nominations for the yearly Distinguished Service Recognition, with a virtual awards ceremony held to honor their impact.
