Pennsylvania AHEC Primary Care Ambassador Program

The Pennsylvania AHEC is developing a new Primary Care Ambassador Program in collaboration with Wilkes University working with undergraduate students pursuing medical school.

Goals of the program are to:

Assist eligible students to successfully matriculate to medical school

Encourage students into primary care by providing maximum exposure to the practice of primary care

Recruit students to work in rural and underserved areas

The PA AHEC’s partnership with the College Pre-Health Advisors community is an essential component in building and sharing best practices related to underserved students and their pursuits of careers in medicine.

The PA AHEC Primary Care Ambassador Program aims to recruit students from academically and economically disadvantaged backgrounds.All participants will engage in discussions and activities during the fall, spring, and summer semester of the academic year.
