Looking Forward to NEPA Gives 2024

Northeast PA Area Health Education Center (NE PA AHEC) is not only our regional AHEC but also part of the state and nationwide AHEC system since 1972. We partner with healthcare organizations, and community organizations to educate middle school through college students on health careers and opportunities in rural and medically underserved areas of NEPA. We provide specialized programing and experiences for students interested in health career programs.

NE PA AHEC is also offering an Accredited Community Health Worker Training to high school graduates or students with a GED. Community Health Workers (CHWs) positively affect vulnerable communities! They serve as liaisons between medical and social services and the community. They advocate for change and cultural competency of services delivered, as well as improving access to quality care. We partner with healthcare organizations, academic institutions and community organizations.

Our goal is to educate all ages of students, support them through their educational journey, and connect them to career opportunities right here in NEPA.
